The Mayor of Aachen, Sibylle Keupen, welcomed the new professors from Aachen’s universities to an open and informative exchange in the town hall. “Science is an important catalyst for the entire city of Aachen.” emphasized Sibylle Keupen in her welcoming address. She added: “This reception marks the start of a captivating journey of exchange of knowledge, joint discoveries and innovations. I wish all new professors a successful start in our beautiful city, inspiring research results and a fulfilling time. Together we will make Aachen fit for the future.” Following the invitation of the city’s science office, the professors later had the opportunity to discuss their new place of residence and work further at a get-together. Our colleague Florian Fusseis, newly appointed professor of applied structural geology, was also part of the reception and gave an exciting RockTalk afterwards.
